IEC Fort Worth/Tarrant County Chapter Wins National Awards

The Fort Worth/Tarrant County Chapter hosted the IEC national convention October 24-27 at the Fort Worth Convention Center and Omni Hotel. During the convention Fort Worth members and chapter staff were recipient of several awards presented at the awards luncheon and awards gala.

Our own Bobby Tutor, who serves as national president until the end of the year, will move into the past president spot on the national board and presented the awards.

Apprenticeship Alumni Award: Bobby Tutor received the very first Apprenticeship Alumni Award. The award honors an IEC apprenticeship program graduate who has gone on to distinguish themselves in the electrical industry.


IEC-CNA Safety Award 300+ Employees: Cummings Electric, Fort Worth, Texas. The award was accepted by Mark Abernathy of Cummings Electric and honors a company for excellence in safety practices.


Chapter of the Year Award: Our chapter was awarded the IEC National Chapter of the Year Award in Category C (31-60 contractors.) This award is based on many different criteria related to participation with IEC National.


Executive Director of the Year Award: – Marcie Funchess, received the Chapter Executive Director of the Year award. This award recognizes an IEC chapter executive director who exhibits outstanding leadership, accomplishments and service during the past year.
