During the 2016 chapter annual meeting on March 24th, Gary Dalrymple was awarded the Honorary Life Member Award. Gary has worked in the electrical industry since he was thirteen years old. He retired from JBI Electrical Systems Inc. in 2015.
February 29th, IEC National President, Joseph Hovanec, announced Thayer Long, the Executive Vice President/CEO of IEC National, will be stepping down from his position effective April 22 – he has accepted another opportunity outside of IEC and the industry.
Americans’ treacherous relationship with prescription painkillers and illegal drugs appears to be worsening, with fatal overdoses up 7 percent in one year, according to federal statistics. Deaths increased at double the national rate in NJ and triple in PA. More than 41,000 died nationwide. “It is no longer possible to shut our eyes and wish the problem will just go away,” said Beverly Haberle, executive director of the Council of SE PA, the regional affiliate of the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence.
